DIY Denim Pocket T-Shirt
Hello again!
So, with my vacations on, I have a lot of free time and that means, a whole lot of time for DIY's!
I am absolutely in love with this project and how it turned out. Plus, this is a great and probably, the most simple way of recreating that boring old t-shirt into something really cute and perfect for the summer.
Supplies:-
A T-Shirt. (I bought mine from Fig.)
Denim Back Pocket. (It is really easy to rip one out of an old pair of jeans. All you need to do is turn your jeans inside out and take a needle and start discarding the threading from the jeans. This might take a little while but is quite easy.)
Newspapers or Magazines
Glue. (I used Fevicol All-Fix. Fabric Glue works fine as well.)
How To:-
1.Open up your t-shit and lay it down on a flat surface. Make sure there are no creases. Insert the newspapers/magazines under the t-shirt. This will secure the back part of the t-shirt from the glue.
2. Turn your denim pocket on the wrong side and apply glue on the corner really precisely. Make sure you do not apply any glue on the opening of the pocket i.e the top part.
3. Now, this is the most important step. Take your denim back pocket and paste it on your t-shirt. Do this quick so that the glue does not dry off and also make sure that you place the pocket accurately. If you do not, there are going to be glue stains on you t-shirt which are going to be hard to remove. After placing it, press the pocket really well on the t-shirt.
4. Let the glue dry as per the instructions on your glue packaging. I let mine dry for about 2 hours. After it is completely dry, iron on the reverse side of your t-shirt.
Well, that is about it. It looks really pretty when on and recreates a whole different look.
One tip, if you are using a t-shirt with a darker tone, use a pocket which is relatively of a lighter tone. If your t-shirt is of a light tone, use a pocket with a darker tone. This gives the t-shirt a contrast.
